Kiely Engineering specializes in providing Civil and Structural Engineering design services to commercial and heavy industrial Clients throughout North America and abroad.  Services include structural analysis and design of buildings and structures such as piperacks and modular structures, equipment supports, stair towers, access platforms and related foundations.  Kiely Engineering also performs on-site structural inspections, preparation of inspection reports, and modifications to existing facilities. Kiely Engineering is part of the Kiely Family of Companies which is a major design-build provider of underground utility systems for the natural gas, petroleum, and water resources industries.

Position Summary: 
KIELY Engineering is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with 5-15 years of diversified experience to further assist with the growth currently underway within our expanding design team.  An exceptional candidate will be able to quickly advance to roles with higher responsibility.

  • Perform structural calculations and drafting for power, process, petrochemical, and other industrial-type facilities
  • Use of Finite Element Analysis software and Excel for calculations
  • Strong oral/written communication skills for interaction with clients
  • Writing of design reports and proposals
  • Occasional site inspections
  • Perform lead engineering duties for small projects including client interaction, management of junior staff and coordination with drafting

Competencies:

  • BS in the Civil/Structural Engineering discipline; MS is a plus
  • 5-15 years of relevant experience
  • PE certification is required.
  • Expertise in MS Excel to automate calculations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for structural drafting
  • Familiarity with AISC 360, ACI 318, ASCE 7 and related codes
  • Experience in design of structural steel and concrete structures including foundations
  • Experience in shop drawings and detailing review/checking
  • Proficiency in use of STAAD Pro and SP Mats design software is a plus
  • Occasional travel, job site visits, and alternate office locations is expected, otherwise remote office work 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
