POSITION SUMMARY:  The  Project Engineer who will be responsible for supporting various electric projects. The Project Engineer will support the operations team with project documentation, subcontractor management, quality control, and safety from project start-up, design phase services, through final close out.

  • Review and assist with project schedules.
  • Attend project meetings with internal team and clients.
  • Ensure project documentation is compliant with industry and project standards and company policies.
  • Maintain records on the project including Safety Manual, MSDS files, QA/QC reports, project inspections, and other project correspondence.
  • Maintain record set of plans with all plan revisions.  Track completion of work on project plans. 
  • Communicate project status, changes, and risks to the senior project manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and approve material and supplier invoices for the project on a regular basis.
  • Track all subcontractors that worked on the project and present findings to Project Manager. 
  • Maintain general correspondence file with correspondence, shop drawings, subcontractors, and delivery logs.
  • Assist in purchase of job materials to ensure the proper quantities are delivered.
  • Review project plans and assist in ensuring work is completed properly.
  • Follow plans to monitor performance and specifications during the construction phase.
  • Assist with submittal reviews, correspondence, change orders and requests for information.

Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Electrical Construction.
  • Experience with McCormick Software preferred.
  • Proficiency in  Foundations and Autodesk  preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment; able to accurately process written documents, perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized and able to interface; communicate effectively with company, clients and field personnel at all levels.
  • Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail oriented, excellent interpersonal skills and have excellent follow-through capability.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and critical thinking.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and project management, project scheduling and document control/sharing software.
