POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Payroll Associate with 3+ years of experience in a multi-state, multi-corporate environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll processing and excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written) strong Excel and accounting systems experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, research and edit data from weekly union timesheet entries in HCSS for import to Viewpoint Vista and Sage 300CRE.
  • Contact various department supervisors for any missing time, questions on time entries, and union team member inquiries.
  • Check validate and ensures timesheet accuracy.
  • Process weekly union payroll direct deposit.
  • Prepares and execute payroll cash posting and bank file uploads.
  • Assembles General Ledger posting, using payroll reports and other data.
  • Enter, verify, and upload 401k amounts.
  • Performs employment verifications as requested.
  • Performs filing and scanning.
  • Participates in changes to the Payroll computer system by assisting the Payroll Manager with testing and rule/validation table changes.
  • Provides support to department staff regarding Union payroll and related processes.
  • Submit remittance reports and payment for various trade unions.
  • Tracks and maintains spreadsheet and written documentation regarding disability and related payments to trade union team members.
  • Provides back up to payroll department team members as needed
  • Uses computer and various software programs to input, maintain, research and retrieve information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in system upgrades, improvements and other projects.

Competencies

  • Bachelor, Associate’s degree or strong payroll experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships
  • Team player who can also work independently and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Competence in Excel with the ability to visually interpret the logic of a complex sequence of excel formulas and update or change as needed
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and process
