POSITION SUMMARY: The Kiely Family of Companies is looking for a Construction Project Engineer who will be responsible for supporting various gas construction projects. The Project Engineer is responsible for the supporting the construction field team with project documentation, subcontractor management, quality control, and safety from project start-up, design phase services, construction, through final close out.

  • Support the project safety program by preparing and giving weekly Toolbox Talks and Daily Safety Huddles.
  • Maintain records on the project including Safety Manual, MSDS files, QA/QC reports, project inspections, mark-out tickets, and other project correspondence.
  • Perform daily quantity review with Superintendents and Job Foreman.  Enter daily quantities into the system and file daily sheets.  Enter and/or review daily payroll information by specific task and assist in productivity tracking.
  • Maintain record set of plans with all plan revisions.  Track completion of work on project plans.  Prepare as-built drawing mark-ups.
  • Perform monthly review of estimates with job Superintendent. 
  • Maintain files, tracking all extra work.  Notify Project Manager or Division Manager of anticipated overruns/underruns.
  • Track all subcontractors that worked on the project for the month utilizing the Subcontractor Daily Log.  Submit monthly estimates with subcontractor payment sheets to Accounting upon approval from the owner.
  • Review and approve material and supplier invoices for the project on a regular basis.
  • Maintain general correspondence file with correspondence, shop drawings, subcontractors, and delivery logs.
  • Assist in purchase of job materials to ensure the proper quantities are delivered.
  • Review project plans and assist in ensuring work is completed properly.
  • Develop project look-ahead schedules.
  • Follow plans to monitor performance and specifications during the construction phase.
  • Assist with submittal reviews, correspondence, change orders and requests for information.
  • Maintain relationships and meet regularly with clients throughout project completion.

Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • Experience in Construction preferred.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment; able to accurately process written documents, perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized and able to interface; communicate effectively with company, clients and field personnel at all levels.
  • Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail oriented, excellent interpersonal skills and have excellent follow-through capability.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and critical thinking.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and project management, project scheduling and document control/sharing software.
  • Ability to be permanently located in the Philadelphia metro area.
